Directors Note: I confronted the ideal realities of women roles in the world based on societies expectation. In the Bachelorette by Leslye Headland I pushed the boundaries of what it meant for women to be loud, obnoxious, and disturbed in a high class world. I created a space for the audience to take on what it meant to see young women knocking each other down for their own benefit. My desire was to create a vulgar atmosphere for the audience to sit in and question the motives of the characters. Does their "bad, un-lady like" behavior automatically make them a menace to society or is this how they are able to cope with societal views placed on them?
